Right now we spend a lot of time only with our own family. The days hardly differ from each other and especially children get bored quickly. Maybe you’ve suspended the rules on media use because otherwise your child will whine all the time. Meeting with friends, going to the playground or to soccer practice is just not possible right now. But staring at the screen the whole time and watching the hundredth episode of your favorite show is not interesting anymore. That’s why the editorial team of Elternguide has a few tips and ideas against boredom and moping:

Think about a small project for each day.

That doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with media. Maybe you plant the balcony or garden together with your child, do handicrafts and write cards for Easter for grandma and grandpa or the kindergarten teacher… The main thing is that it is a small highlight in the day that distracts from the daily monotony and the news around the one topic!

Meeting friends in the digital space

Perhaps your family already has regular video chats with grandparents. Why not organize a video chat between all your child’s friends so they can chat and show each other their rooms via webcam?

Make media yourself

Media use doesn’t mean just watching videos or playing computer games. You can also get creative and active yourself with media. Maybe you never had the time for such a project before. There are plenty of suggestions at Elternguide.online:
